New Model 26 Frisker

Ludlum is pleased to announce the release of the Model 26, Integrated GM Pancake Frisker.  This unique design combines counting electronics, display, controls, power supply, and detector into one ergonomically designed and highly convenient package.  In addition to displaying countrate, it also has a scaler mode for accumulating counts over a preset time period, a Max mode that holds the countrate to the highest value until its cleared, plus programmable alarms.  Many of these features are typically only available on more expensive geiger counters, yet the Model 26 costs less than the traditional basic units available in the marketplace.  Contributing even further to the cost advantage is its very lengthy 500-2000 hour operational time on just two "AA" size batteries resulting in extremely low operating costs.

While the basic geiger counter has remained largely unchanged since it was first developed by Hans Geiger about 100 years ago, the Model 26 represents a huge step forward with its integrated packaging, added functionality and low cost operation.  This unique design will certainly give pause to surveyors who will appreciate the lighter weight, freeing up one hand, and having access to additional functions.  We would like to believe that Hans Geiger would be pleased.
